LAWVOCATE TERMS OF USE + EULA

LAWVOCATE TERMS OF USE + EULA

Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Version: v1.3-2025-12-29
Owner/Provider: The Underwood Group, LLC (“Provider,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
Service: Lawvocate (the “Service”)

1. Core Safety Disclosures

No attorney–client relationship is formed unless and until (a) conflicts are cleared, and (b) you and an attorney of The Underwood Group, LLC sign a separate written engagement agreement.

1.1 Drafting assistance only; attorney review required

Lawvocate provides AI-assisted drafting and workflow support. Outputs are a starting point only and must be reviewed, edited, and approved by a licensed attorney before reliance or filing.

1.2 No legal advice through Lawvocate

No legal advice is provided through the Site or Lawvocate. Legal advice is provided only by a lawyer under a signed engagement agreement.

1.3 Not for emergencies; no deadline monitoring

Lawvocate is not for emergencies or urgent matters. Using the Service does not create a duty to monitor deadlines or filings.

1.4 Private / link-only access; third-party delivery

Lawvocate access is provided via private link or authenticated portal access and may be delivered through third-party platforms (including OpenAI or Google-hosted experiences). Availability and features may change due to third-party platform limitations or policy changes.

2. User Types and Responsibilities

  • Clients/Public: general information/intake only; no reliance as legal advice.

  • Attorneys: responsible for verification, supervision of nonlawyers, competence, and confidentiality obligations.

  • Staff/Students: permitted only under attorney supervision.

3. License Grant (EULA)

Subject to these terms, Provider grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for lawful purposes consistent with these terms.

4. Restrictions

You may not reverse engineer, bypass safeguards, use the Service for unauthorized practice of law, represent AI output as attorney advice without review/adoption by a licensed attorney, or use the Service unlawfully.

5. Verification and No Guarantees

You are responsible for verifying facts, citations, deadlines, and jurisdictional applicability. No outcome is guaranteed.

6. Sensitive Data Guardrails

Do not enter SSNs, bank login credentials, full card numbers/CVV, medical records/PHI, or sealed/protected materials unless and until we confirm representation and provide a secure channel.

7. Fees; Payment Does Not Create Representation

If access is paid (subscription/pay-per-use/session fee): payment does not create representation and does not substitute for a signed engagement agreement.

8. Third-Party Platforms; Chat History

Chat history and storage are managed by the third-party platform provider under the user’s own account and subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy. Provider does not control third-party retention, security, or data practices outside Provider systems.

9. International Use; No Jurisdiction Guarantee

The Service may be accessible outside the United States. Outputs may not reflect non-U.S. law, and Provider makes no guarantee of applicability to any jurisdiction. You remain responsible for local legal compliance and obtaining local counsel where needed.

10. Independent Counsel (No Agency / No Network Implication)

If you are referred to independent counsel, that lawyer/law firm is a separate entity responsible for their own advice, services, and terms. Any relationship with independent counsel is between you and that counsel unless expressly stated in a signed engagement agreement with us.

11. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability; Indemnity

AS-IS/AS-AVAILABLE; no warranty of accuracy. Liability cap: fees paid in the six (6) months prior to the claim event (to the maximum extent permitted). Indemnity for misuse/UPL/infringement/unlawful activity.

12. Governing Law; Venue

Michigan law. Venue: Ottawa County, Michigan state courts, or WDMI if federal jurisdiction exists, unless required otherwise by law.
